On September 2, RUE Beltelecom and the Minsk Regional Executive Committee signed a Memorandum of Cooperation. The document, signed by Aliaksandr Kenda, Director General of RUE Beltelecom, and Aleksei Kushnarenko, Chairman of the Minsk Regional Executive Committee, secured a long-term partnership between the parties in the field of modern information technologies.
Aliaksandr Kenda emphasized the importance of strategic cooperation,
“By combining our competencies and resources, we will be able to jointly implement digital solutions that will bring real benefits and tangible effects. I am convinced that our future cooperation will be filled with specific practical content.”
Aleksei Kushnarenko expressed confidence that the signing of the memorandum would be an important step towards intensifying joint work and would open up new opportunities for the implementation of additional solutions.
Beltelecom's cooperation with the Minsk Regional Executive Committee has been systematic for a long time. For many years, the company's Minsk branch divisions have been successfully bridging the digital divide between urban and rural areas, implementing advanced technologies into various sectors of the economy, including agriculture. Modern communication lines have been extended to all healthcare institutions in the region, enabling the connection of services such as video surveillance, internet, television, local area networks, and cloud PBX. The large-scale infrastructure has become the foundation for launching a Centralized Healthcare Information System. Fiber-optic lines have also been installed in schools in the Minsk region.
The memorandum opens up broad opportunities for joint initiatives aimed at further digitalization of the region, with a particular focus on the agroindustrial complex. A number of flagship projects have already been implemented, and the parties intend to develop and scale them up.
One example of successful cooperation is the vertical video surveillance system in place at livestock facilities in the Minsk region, which has been in operation since the beginning of this year. Today, more than 360 farms are provided with the “Video surveillance” service. This unique development connects all levels－ regions, districts, and individual enterprises － into a single system, ensuring 24-hour monitoring, precise compliance to process maps, and comprehensive specialist support.
Aleksei Kushnarenko, Chairman of the Minsk Regional Executive Committee, noted, “Video surveillance allows us to monitor technological processes and quickly respond to changes in the condition of livestock, which is especially important for improving the quality of livestock products. In addition, video surveillance promotes compliance with work discipline and effective management of work processes.”
Heads and specialists from district executive committees joined the meeting via videoconference, sharing positive feedback on the use of video surveillance systems and expressing their wishes for the further development of the digital system's functionality.
The memorandum will also strengthen positions in such promising areas as the concept of “smart cities” and the launch of innovative solutions for education, healthcare, and others. To achieve ambitious goals for the further development of the region's digital economy, it is planned to make maximum use of the experience, potential, and extensive infrastructure of Beltelecom.
