Telecommunication networks are laid out in all districts and regions of Belarus. Beltelecom annually sets in operation thousands of kilometers of modern fiber-optic communication lines, with 5,270 km of FOCLs built in 2025 alone. This extensive infrastructure is the foundation for the reliable operation of digital services and it ensures that every resident and every business can always stay connected.
Spring traditionally marks the beginning of active construction and improvement work. Beltelecom emphasizes that it is important to strictly follow the Rules for the protection of communication lines, structures and radio systems in the Republic of Belarus during this work, and to coordinate any excavation work within the boundaries of telecommunications line protection zones with representatives of RUE Beltelecom branches.
To prevent damage to telecommunication lines when carrying out work within the boundaries of telecommunication line security zones, it is necessary to*:
- Obtain written permission for the right to carry out work in the security zone of telecommunication lines and structures from the branch of RUE Beltelecom, which is responsible for the operational and technical maintenance of the communication lines.
- After receiving permission, no later than three days before the start of the work, call to the work site a representative of the structural division of RUE Beltelecom, which is responsible for the operational and technical maintenance of the communication line.
- Instruct workers carrying out excavation work on the implementation of the requirements of the Rules for the protection of communication lines, structures and radio systems in the Republic of Belarus, on measures to ensure the safety of communication lines, the safety of people, and on liability for damage to communication lines and structures.
- Carry out excavation work only in the presence of a representative of the enterprise, which is responsible for the operational and technical maintenance of the communication lines.
- In emergency situations, until a representative of the operating organization arrives at the scene of the accident, excavation work must be carried out manually using shovels, without sharp blows and without the use of mechanisms and impact tools.

Cable lines provide not only Internet and television but also emergency assistance. Remember: a single damaged cable can leave thousands of subscribers, public facilities, and organizations without service. Compliance with these rules is essential for the high-quality and uninterrupted operation of all digital services.
